However, personal tastes will drive desirability, regardless of price or popularity.Gemstone ClarityDue to the way gemstones form in the earth, almost all contain tiny fractures called inclusions. Generally, flawless gemstones are very rare and valuable, however even most high-end gemstones are at least slightly included. The best value is found in gems that are lightly- to moderately-included, yet some gemstones, like emeralds and red tourmaline, always have visible inclusions, so those inclusions detract less from their value. Certain inclusions can also indicate from where in the world the gemstones were mined. Clarity has the most impact on lighter-hued gemstones, because the inclusions are most visible.Gemstones CutGemstone cuts are similar to diamond cuts. However, unlike diamonds, with gemstones there isn't an "ideal" cut geometrically configured for maximum brilliance.
